Pleasanton Fund Run

I was privileged to attend my husband's first real gig with his new band, The Regulars.  They played for the After Party of the Pleasanton Fund Run Half Marathon.

Photo A Day - May 1

I've decided to participate in Photo A Day for this month.  I needed some new inspiration and subject matter, so this will help.  Of course I anticipate most of my photos to be my girls still.

Today's photo is Peace.

What's more peaceful than a sleeping baby?

Ministry Photography

I took some new photos for the church's website this past weekend.  Some of them are blah, some I think are pretty cool.

This may be my favorite picture almost EVER

I tried so hard to get a picture of offering, but in the dark room with a high ISO, I still needed a slower shutter speed, and I just couldn't get it fast enough.  I'll keep trying.

Chocolate Cake

I recently attended a memorial service for a sweet little boy who loved chocolate cake.  His mom asked that we take photos of the reception.  I was too distracted by my children to really get that many photos.  But while they were in line for food (spaghetti, pizza, lasagna) I managed to snap a couple photos of the cake tables.  Fifteen feet of chocolate cakes, all made by friends of family of little Logan.

Logan was 4 1/2 when he was diagnosed with AT/RT; a very severe form of brain cancer. He fought for 18 months. It was a hard battle. He went home to be with the Lord on Feb 11, 2012. We remember Logan when we see anything from Pixar's Cars, chocolate cake, CostCo pizza, dancing and corvettes.

Shoot Through Things

Inspired by a post on iheartfaces.com, I have been trying to find new ways to look at my subjects and shoot through things.

Open Mic - Again

The church had another Open Mic Night and I enjoyed taking photos of all the participants and audience.

I heart faces - black and white monthly challenge

For their first monthly contest, iheartfaces.com's challenge is black and white.

This is the first B&W photo I've done with Lightroom.  It was fun and a challenge to get the contrast I wanted and could see in my head.

I love this photo. The way her hand is on her cheek. The light from the tablet shining on her face.  The way she looks more like a big kid than a not-yet 3 y/o.
